From its inception, CCO has been steadfast in its commitment to empowering the Chin and other community, promoting self-sufficiency, and ensuring seamless integration into American society. The organization’s mission is centered on improving a better world, health, life, cultural, social, and economic development for our community by serving people in need. This includes offering translation services and assistance with appointments for non-English speakers. Additionally, the CCO mission highlights the importance of advocacy, engagement, and education to holistically support the Burmese American and Columbus communities.
The Chin Community of Ohio (CCO) has developed a robust suite of programs to advance its mission. CCO helps and advocates the community in public benefits applications, retirement applications for senior citizens, citizenship applications, community gardening, education, medical appointments, language services, employment, and other social and legal services. CCO also takes responsibility for heritage of the cultural and literature of ethnic Chin in the community. These initiatives are designed to bridge educational gaps, preserve cultural heritage, and enhance communication within the community.
